Growing up our CEO and COO brother and sister Ron and Sam would take ‘New Zealand made’ supplements. New Zealand is known for being a clean green country and marking a product as New Zealand made around the world sends that message. However, it wasn’t until Ron was studying at Canterbury University that he discovered a surprising truth: products that were so-called ‘Made in New Zealand’ were made with cheap overseas ingredients which made many believe that even the content of the supplements seemed like they were from New Zealand. This knowledge inspired Ron to create a brand that truly reflects our values—thus, Kōrure was born. 

Through Ron’s research, he also learnt that 90% of the fish population is un-sustainably fished. This is when he began his search for an alternative source of fish and discovered Green-lipped Mussel Oil.
